About SewerCostGuide

SewerCostGuide is an independent research site about what U.S. homeowners pay to repair or replace a sewer line. It is run by Chaman Sharma, who is not a plumber, not a contractor, and not an insurance agent.

Why this site exists

Quotes for the same house can look unrelated. One company leads with a low per-foot rate. Another leads with a trenchless package. A third folds the permit and the yard into one number. This site puts the published ranges in one place, shows the arithmetic, and tells you which figures are thin.

The audience is a homeowner in the United States comparing options before calling local plumbers. Prices are in U.S. dollars.

How the research is done

Every cost range is compiled from published sources, then cited. Chaman does not invent a national average, a star rating, or a count of jobs. When a figure comes from limited data, the page says so. The full list of sources, the calculator formula, and the update rule are on the methodology page.

Pages are reviewed at least once a year. The methodology page sets a tighter habit: review every 6–12 months, and sooner if a source publishes a clear change.

Editorial independence

Companies do not pay to change a number, a ranking, or a sentence on a cost page. There is no ranking of plumbers, because this site does not collect reviews.

Two commercial relationships are disclosed where they happen:

  • The quote form can connect you with up to three local plumbers. SewerCostGuide may be paid for that referral. The form says so, and you have to opt in.
  • Advertising may run after Google AdSense approval. Ads are not placed inside the calculator or the quote form. While the publisher ID is empty, no ad code is loaded.

Editorial choices and those commercial options are separate. A referral fee does not pick the cost range.

Who to contact

Questions about a number, a correction, or a privacy request go to contact@sewerreplacementcost.com. Please use the contact page for what we can and cannot answer. The privacy policy covers the quote form. The disclaimer states the limits of the estimates.

For the cost pages, start with the sewer line replacement cost guide. Ranges on this site follow the methodology.
